2009 Leadership Conference

If you are a volunteer leader with a Wisconsin SHRM chapter, state council or student chapter (or will be one soon), this conference opportunity is just for you!  We invite you to attend this year's conference at the recently renovated, Hotel Mead, set in the heart of Wisconsin.  The goal of this conference is to offer you leadership strategies that will strengthen your chapter, council or student group through education, communication, and collaboration with other SHRM leaders.

The conference will kick-off at 11:00am on August 5th and conclude by 4:00pm on August 6th.

Wednesday Events

  • Kick off with lunch keynote Laurie McIntosh’s address HR: Why it is Critical in Today’s Downturn
  • Select from several breakout sessions on:
    • Student Preparedness for the Workplace
    • Enterprising Leadership and Workplace Diversity Initiatives from 2008 SHRM Award Recipients
    • Advancing Your Profession through Certification
  • What’s Happening at SHRM? – Get filled in on current SHRM initiatives including Enterprising Leadership, the HR State Conference Stimulus, website updates, and other efforts that can help benefit your local chapters and HR professionals across the state
  • Enjoy a Night of Networking and Fun on the town in Wisconsin Rapids

    • Preparing the Chapter Budget
    • Program & Event Planning
  • Take an opportunity to network and caucus with your peers on what we can do as HR professionals, local and state leaders to help put what we have learned together into action

Registration opened July 8th. Hotel reservations can be made now by calling the Hotel Mead & Conference Center at 1.800.843.6323.  A block of rooms will be held until July 15th for conference attendees for Tuesday and Wednesday night at a cost of $90 per night plus tax.

Conference Attendee Registration Cost

  • General SHRM Board Leaders = $75
  • Student Chapter Leaders = $25
  • Chapters that have had a representative attend 80% of all State Council Meetings receive one free registration.
  • All individuals that serve in a State Council Officer/Functional position receive a free registration.

Please mark your calendar, book your room, and share with all of your local board members.   Everyone who is a volunteer SHRM leader in WI is welcome to attend and share in the knowledge.

 
Hotel Information
