State Conference 2004 Overview

Mardi Gras Kick-Off – Welcome to the Bayou—Exhibit Hall
To coincide with our Carnivale/Mardi Gras theme, we are creating a festive New Orleans atmosphere throughout the Exhibit Hall. Wednesday evening (5:00 – 8:00 p.m.) the Exhibit Hall opens to a lively Dixieland band, an interactive New Orleans Trivia game, a Hurricane Bar and lots of other fun on the Bayou. Visit the SHRM Foundation Booth to get your New Orleans lagniappes(trinkets).
Attendee Appreciation Event followed by Mardi Gras Carnivale—PAC
The fun extends to Thursday when the Mardi Gras Carnivale promises lots of fun and lively entertainment. The Attendee Appreciation Event starts the evening from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. A Jazz Band entertains during the Attendee Appreciation Event where the drawing for all the large exhibitor and raffle ticket prizes will be completed. Special recognition for sponsors will be made during this time. After the Attendee Appreciation Event, the Carnivale begins! (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.) The PAC lobby will be transformed into a stroll down Bourbon Street complete with roving revelers, costumed greeters, and plenty of tantalizing food and beverages. The KC Hall will be connected to the party and will serve as a stroll through the French Quarter. A Zydeco band will provide the entertainment along with palm readers, tarot card readers and “street” performers.
The 2004 State Conference Bookfest will be located next to the conference registration area.

The bookfest will offer titles that will spark your interest on a wide variety of subjects and many of the newest books in the HR field. Buy our keynote speaker Jeff Taylor's book early, as he will be signing copies immediately following his presentation Thursday morning.
Listed below are just a few of the titles that will be available but watch this website since we will be adding new titles as the conference draws near. If you have particular titles that you would be interested in purchasing please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we will consider offering them at the conference.

Note: Cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations are subject to a $50 administrative fee if received or postmarked before
September 15, 2003. No Exceptions. Cancellations after September 15, 2003 are non-refundable. Refund checks will be sent
to the contact information provided, minus the cancelation fee.
