Ram Charan

A highly acclaimed business advisor, speaker and author, Ram Charan has coached some of the world's most successful CEOs. For 35 years, he has worked behind the scenes at companies like GE, KLM, Bank of America, DuPont, Novartis, EMC, Home Depot, and Verizon.

Ram Charan is a well-known author, whose books include Execution and Confronting Reality, written with Larry Bossidy, the former CEO of Honeywell. Execution reached number one on the Wall Street Journal list and has been on the New York Time’s best-seller list for more than fifty weeks. His other books include Boards That Deliver, What the CEO Wants You to Know, Boards at Work, Every Business Is a Growth Business and Profitable Growth.

A former member of the Harvard Business School faculty, Charan has published articles in the Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Time, and USA Today. He was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources. He serves as a co-host for the Fortune Forum on Corporate Governance and also serves on the National Association of Corporate Directors’ Blue Ribbon Commission on Corporate Governance.

Margaret Morford

Accomplishing the goals and objectives of any organization requires more than just smart employees who work hard. It requires savvy employees who know how to forge alliances and avoid animosities in order to be effective. Margaret will help us identify which of the rules of "positive politics" we, as HR professionals, are most likely to violate and obtain guidelines for our own conduct and for managing relationships with co-workers and managers. Learn how to avoid political pitfalls in business communication, both oral and written, and how to recognize who really holds power and has influence in an organization.

Margaret Morford is President of The HR Edge, Inc. a national management consulting and training company, whose clients include Lockheed Martin, Moog, Inc., Sara Lee Foods, Home and Garden Television, Allied Insurance and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Before creating her own company, Morford held a variety of human resources-related positions, including senior vice president of human resources consulting for a national consulting firm, as an attorney specializing in employment law and as vice president of human resources for three large companies.  She is often quoted as a business expert in newspapers across the country including The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.  Morford was rated one of the top ten speakers for the 2004 Society for Human Resource Management National Conference.  She is the author of the video “Running With the Big Dogs – How to Make HR a Strategic Player.”

Susan R. Meisinger, SPHR

Susan Meisinger will share her vision on the tools HR Practitioners will need to develop in order to support their company’s strategy for success. 

Susan R. Meisinger, SPHR, is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. Meisinger previously served SHRM in a variety of positions, including that of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Government and Public Affairs.

Acting on behalf of SHRM, Meisinger takes an active role to help shape public policy. She was one of thirteen members appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to serve on the Secretary's Committee on the Future of the Workplace under the President's Council on the 21st Century Workforce. She has provided testimony and commentary to public policy makers, and is a respected advocate on behalf of the HR profession.

Meisinger frequently serves as an expert on workplace and business issues in the national media and has appeared on CNN, CNNfn and NBC Nightly News as well as other well-known broadcast news programs. She has also appeared in stories in the New York Times, Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal, among other leading national publications.
