WISHRM Earns 2010 SHRM Foundation State Council Champion Award

The State Council Champions award recognizes SHRM state councils that work to support the SHRM Foundation. The state council can play an important role in disseminating Foundation information to its chapters and encouraging the chapters to take an active role in raising money and educating members on the Foundation's work. Each year, more than 80% of state councils make a contribution to the Foundation's annual campaign.
To earn a State Council Champion award, your chapter must:
  • Make a state council contribution to the annual campaign
  • Appoint a Foundation coordinator
  • Educate your members on the work of the SHRM Foundation
  • Hold a special event (silent auction, bear at state conference, etc.) to encourage individual contributions.

Silent Auction Donations for WISHRM 2011State Conference
We have once again begun to plan our State Conference Event for the Society of HR Management.  This year we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary on October 12-13.  The silent auction is a fun way for us to give back to the SHRM foundation each year at our State Conference.

Please consider donating an item(s) to our Silent Auction in honor of our 25th Anniversary. We are asking our SHRM Affiliate Chapters, along with Wisconsin area businesses to support the foundation by donating item(s) for the silent auction.  If you are interested in donating an item to our silent auction, please fill out the Silent Auction Donation form and either fax it to 920/403-8358 or mail it to Schneider National, Attn:  Terri Brown US.GRB.01.03.21, PO Box 2545, Green Bay, WI 54306-2545 by Wednesday, August 1, 2011. I will contact you about arranging delivery or pickup of your donation.

Thank you in advance for your support of this event.

Congratulations to Wisconsin's

SHRM Foundation News:
Thought Leaders Retreat

Each fall, the SHRM Foundation’s Thought Leaders Retreat brings together a select group of leading-edge thinkers and practitioners in the HR field.  It started in 1999 as a way for SHRM Foundation board members to interact with outside experts and to generate new research ideas.  From that beginning, the event grew each year to include members of the other SHRM boards and special guests.

Today, the Thought Leaders Retreat program targets a senior executive audience and focuses on strategic issues such as Positioning Your Organization for Recovery (2009); Workforce 2012: Attracting and Retaining Top Talent (2008); and Leadership Succession in a Changing World (2007). Participants explore issues shaping the future of the profession and their implications for research and practice.
